Kahla started as a Veterinary Assistant in October 2013. Kahla's love for animals all started at the young age of four when her parents surprised her with a Yorkshire Terrier puppy! Her love grew when she started volunteering at a therapeutic ranch for special needs children and gained experience working at a local veterinary kennel. She graduated from Milwaukee Career College with a Veterinary Assistant certificate in 2013 and is planning on becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in the near future.

Today, she shares her love and home with a Labrador-Spitz mix named Riley, and Teddy a Bichon-Yorkie mix.

Kahla prefers the outdoors with a variety of activities including boating, ATVing, fishing, snowboarding and hiking to name a few. She also recently took up canvas painting.

Krista first joined the Forest Home Animal Clinic in September 2008 as part of the Kennel Staff for Daycamp and Boarding while she was finishing up her Bachelors of Art in Music. In 2010 she left the clinic to follow other interests while she went to graduate school to obtain her Masters in Business Administration.

Her love for working with animals, love of the clinic, and the clinic family brought her back in October 2016 where she works as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. Her dream for the future is to combine her business degree with her love for animals and veterinary experience. Krista has always had a passion for animals and was raised in a house that had variety of pets from many types of rodents and reptiles to cats and dogs that she was either responsible or helped cared for.

Krista’s current furry family consists of her wonderful heinz 57 mix puppies, Kody (in photo) and Harli. She is kept busy raising her son Alex with her husband Bill all while renovating their family home. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, agility training, and competitions with Kody, reading, and fishing.
